Typical of older buildings is often the beautiful stucco work. However, the ornamental style does not only work well in castles and mansions. For the modern newly built and private houses there are also some splendid materials available. The decorative stucco is available in numerous sizes and can be applied almost anywhere. The base material is white, but you can paint it, of couse, or have it decorated , or colour the existing patterns. The stucco work becomes extremely attractive when pattined, that is painted in an “old colour” which gives the ornaments an antique and decorative look. It is even possible to have stucco “marbled”, the so called “Faux Marbre”, a painting technique which can not be discerned from the real marble with the naked eye.
