The surface where the coving or ornaments
are to be fitted must be clean, dry, flat,
and dust-free. Do not wet it!
Draw a straight line at the place where you want to glue
the coving. Using a fine toothed saw,
saw the coving using a mitre box.
Covings and ornaments must be fixed using special Decorstuc plaster glue. Always
make the reverse side of the coving wet first. Spread the glue evenly on the reverse
side and then press gently into
place. Wipe off excess plaster glue immediately using a wet cloth.
Heavy ornaments should be supported in place for about two
hours, to prevent them moving during
the hardening process. To prevent coving slipping, you can
nail small slats underneathit using small steel panel pins.
Using a fine toothed saw,
saw the coving to the correct angle.

Make the reverse side wet, and then evenly spread Decorstuc plaster glue on it.
|
Mark the place where the coving is to be, press
the coving gently in
place, and support it with
small slats and tacks.
|
Press the next piece of coving with plaster
glue against the vertical side of the previous piece.
|
Remove excess glue immediately, using a wet cloth.
|
First test the fit of
corner joints before you glue them in place. Fill the joints with Decorstuc plaster glue, and remove excess
glue immediately.
|
You can make a nice design with decorative coving. Make sure you
mark the place first.
|
Work carefully to obtain a perfect result.
|
Always measure light fittings exactly and mark them. Then glue the plaster in place, support it if necessary, and clean it.
